NGN International, the Bahraini IT systems integrator and security services provider, participated in the recent Sustainability Forum Middle East, held in Bahrain under the patronage of HE Dr. Mohamed Bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs.

The Forum presents a holistic approach in the way it encourages business leaders to take concrete steps to implement net-zero and sustainability strategies. This year the forum’s theme was “Business Transition to Net-Zero – MENA’s Path Towards a Successful Low-Carbon Future”. More than 400 government officials and business leaders from the region attended the sustainability forum and were joined by international sustainability experts.

NGN attended this forum as a ‘Networking Partner’. It was eager to engage in discussions as well as to exchange information and perspectives on regional targets concerning the reduction of carbon emissions. NGN is working to activate the private sector’s role when it comes to supporting national and regional efforts to attain carbon neutrality.

NGN’s CEO, Mr Yaqoub Al Awadhi, said: “The Forum has provided a great platform for NGN to showcase its insights on how digital transformation can contribute to achieving carbon neutrality through the provision of solutions that will reduce surges in energy consumption. Furthermore, we are encouraging the use of ‘green technology,’ encouraging economic growth, strengthening national innovation capacity, increasing the competitiveness of green technology, and implementing sustainable development which protects the natural environment for future generations.”

Mr. Al Awadhi confirmed that NGN Global helps its public and private sector clients to develop their commitment to environmental and climate issues. This is accomplished through the integration of information technology into daily operations, utilizing innovative energy-saving techniques and decreasing all forms of waste.

NGN’s CEO concluded by noting that one of the most important protocols in combatting climate change is the establishment of green technology applications and that technological innovation forms the basis of sustainable development. He reflected that the need for economic advancement necessitates the implementation of strong technology policies, maintaining that a focus on the green economy and green technology should be amongst the foremost national objectives for achieving sustainable development.

“These initiatives form a programme of ‘green technology’ and have effectively contributed to the green economy’s emergence through the widespread utility of technological applications in various fields. The dedication to the development of green tech will help to create a green economy which will help the natural environment while also developing the nation’s economy.” Continued Mr. Al Awadhi.
