NGN International, a full-fledged systems integrator and IT consultant, in cooperation with KnowBe4 will organize a remote educational seminar under the topic “Social Engineering: The emotional hack”.
The seminar aims to discuss the different forms of Social Engineering attacks, in addition to getting insights into the Social Engineering landscape in the region, and best practices to fight against Social Engineering.
The seminar will be held remotely next Monday, and the main speakers include Mr. Mahmood Sabt, Head of Information Security at Bahrain Bourse, Mr. Ilya Leonov, Head of Cybersecurity Practice at NGN International, and Jelle Wieringa, Security Advocate & PR Lead at KnowBe4.
The CEO of “NGN” Mr. Yaqoob Al Awadhi stated that this webinar will address a very significant topic, but it is not widely discussed in Bahrain which is ” Social Engineering”. This is the art of manipulating people so they give up confidential information like passwords or bank information, or access the computer to secretly install malicious software.
“This seminar will focus on the use of social engineering in cybercrimes or fraudulent activities. Criminals use social engineering tactics because it is usually easier to exploit human natural inclination to trust than it is to discover ways to hack your software, and these types of attacks in many cases lead to significant financial losses.” Al Awadhi said.
Al Awadhi affirmed that this webinar to be held within the activities of “NGN Majlis”, which was launched by “NGN” as a platform to spread and boost awareness of cybersecurity for individuals and institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and it includes online workshops and panel discussions with the participation of an elite group of experts and specialists to address the most significant and common cybersecurity and IT topics.
It’s noteworthy that “NGN Majlis” platform aims to spread awareness of cybersecurity for individuals and institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and educating stakeholders in the public and private sectors about the potential cyber threats they may face online, and their roles and responsibilities to create a safer cyberspace. This Majlis supports the Kingdom of Bahrain’s drive towards digital transformation and economic diversification and the adoption of modern technologies such as cloud computing and industrial intelligence.
